An excellent review paper has been published in European Endocrinology this week. The authors reviewed all available clinical data on the AGE Reader and concluded that the non-invasive AGE Reader measurement shows a good predictive value (better than HbA1c) for the development of diabetic complications, microvascular and macrovascular disease, cardiovascular and overall mortality.
Besides reviewing the available clinical data the authors also give a comprehensive overview of the theoretical background on AGEs and measuring AGEs
