A.J. Smit appointed professor at the UMCG
Groningen, the Netherlands – September 23, 2013
Dr. A.J. Smit has been appointed professor in Internal Medicine and in particular the non-invasive assessment of cardiovascular risk.
Prof. Dr. Smit has been working at the University Medical Center Groningen as an academic doctor and clinical researcher since 1995. Prof. Dr. Smit is one of the inventors of the AGE Reader and co-founded DiagnOptics Technologies BV in 2003. He has been the head of the Vascular Unit of the University Medical Center Groningen for more than 15 years and has authored or co-authored over 200 scientific publications.
Future research of Prof. Dr. Smit will focus on non-invasive diagnosis and monitoring of cardiovascular diseases and risk
