AGE Reader presented at German national diabetes conference in Berlin.
Groningen, the Netherlands – November 23, 2012.
At the recent so-called DDG Herbstagung dr. Kaltheuner gave a very interesting presentation about the daily clinical use of the AGE Reader.
Dr. Kaltheuner presented about his experiences with the AGE Reader in estimating cardiovascular risk in his diabetes patients. In his presentation dr. Kaltheuner stated that the current risk scores to estimate the cardiovascular risk of diabetics are far from perfect. An alternative measurement of cardiovascular risk would be very helpful, to decide whether or not to intensify treatment.
His conclusion was that the AGE Reader is a very easy method to use in daily practice that can be of added value in determining the cardiovascular risk of diabetes patients.
